I own a fitness center. We provide our members with a keycard or keyfob for access entry 24/7. 95% of my members want the fob to attach to their keyring. Over the past 5 years, I’ve gone through 1,000+ keyfobs and keycards. They are relatively expensive – the cheapest I’ve purchased new brand-name fobs from a vendor is $415 for 100 pcs.
A couple years ago I went to China and found a source for fobs. I had samples made, tested them, and eventually made a minimum order. 3 months later, I had more fobs than what I needed. I sold the extras and became a US-source for my supplier. I’m selling their product for 1/2 of cost of the cheapest brand-name fob or card credential.
