ANTIQUE GEORGIAN ENGLISH 15K GOLD FOILED AMETHYST & OLD CUT DIAMOND RING c1820
An antique English, solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) ring; beautifully made, with a row of sparkling deeply proportioned old cut diamonds around a brightly foiled amethyst in a closed back silver setting.
Lovely quality, so attractive & extremely collectible…ready to wear too!
CONDITION
: Generally very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. One diamond a paste replacement – we can have this swapped out for a matching stone if desired.
DATE/MARKS
: Around 1820/40. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS
: Head 20 x 13, amethyst approx. 13 x 7 mm, diamonds approx. 2.1 mm diameter (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
RING SIZE
: N or 7 US (easily sized within reason).
WEIGHT
: Approx. 6.5 grams.
