Description

Antique Georgian Silver And Low Karat Gold Table And Rose Cut Diamond Brooch.
The beautiful floral motif measures approximately 1 7/8” by 7/8”. The top portion is made of five loop like petals each set with five early cut diamonds. The petals surround a large highly included table cut triangle shape center diamond that measures approx 4×3 mm. There are four karat gold stamens atop wires that emanate from the back of the brooch. Each is set with a tiny diamond. There is a fifth stamen that is missing. There are a total of 30 diamonds in the upper portion of the brooch.
The lower portion has a quasi fleur de lis motif and features 12 additional diamonds, five of which are of larger sizes. There is one missing very tiny diamond not counted in the 12.
The entire front of the brooch is made of silver. I have no way to determine if it is sterling. The back of the brooch acid tests as low karat gold. There is a white metal pin stem with an early rollover catch. I believe this is a later addition. The number 36 is engraved on the back of the brooch.
Please note that this brooch has been examined by a GIA gemologist jewelry appraiser who states that the stones are natural diamonds and the piece is from the Georgian Era.
The last picture shows how the piece will look when hung from a chain.  The oxidized sterling chain will be included with the brooch.
Please look at enlarged pictures and ask questions. I am more than happy to respond as best as I can.
